 HISTORY

In 2007, Shiva Rea catalyzed a worldwide yoga event to help raise consciousness for peace and the key environmental issue of global warming. On the weekend of the UN International Peace Day (September 21-23, 2007), over 400 events in 35 countries took place with countless yogis raising consciousness and money for charities.

As a 40th birthday present to their teacher, Chanel Luck and Roberto Lim organized Global Mala Project - Boston 2007 which was held on Saturday, September 22 in Cambridge at the Masonic Hall and in Boston at the Berklee Performance Center. Over 200 yogis and yoginis practiced yoga and meditated at the Masonic Hall which was led by 18 yoga teachers from all over New England. In the evening, over 800 yogis and yoginis were enlightened by Jon Kabat-Zinn and led in chanting by Krisha Das at the Berklee Performance Center
